Carole Naggar has worked as a poet, artist, curator, educator, and photography historian since 1971. She is a cofounder and Special Projects Editor of Pixelpress since 1999. A regular contributor to Aperture magazine since 1988, she is currently at work on a biography of David Seymour Chim, a cofounder of Magnum Photos; a book about Hungarian-American photographer Marion Palfi's 1949 essay on racism: "There Is No More Time: An American Tragedy"; as well as a book on Swedish photographer Christer Stromholm.

1980-1982: Le Matin, Paris, a daily newspaper. Responsible for the photo section, I reported on new books and exhibitions and wrote full-page profiles of photographers for the weekend supplement (eg: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edouard Boubat, Andre Kertesz,etc).
1977-1980: Art Press, a Paris-based arts magazine. I was responsible for the photo section, including articles on exhibitions and photo publications, and also a number of features on cultural issues. I also edited a special issue on photography (1978).
1973-1977: Zoom, a monthly about art and photography. I wrote on books and exhibitions as well as providing texts accompanying portfolios.
1979-1982: Handelsblad, a daily based in Amsterdam. As Paris correspondent, I wrote a bimonthly letter in English about Parisian cultural events.
1977-1980: Hollands Diep, an illustrated weekly in Amsterdam, close in spirit to The Village Voice. I wrote a "Letter from paris" twice a month.
1973-1976. A founding member and contributor to Contrejour, a monthly magazine and publishing company. I contributed to the magazine and books on a regular basis and chose and edited portfolios by young European and American photographers.
